Cash and jewellery worth 30 million rupees robbed in Anuradapura

A private finance institution and a building material store near the bus stand in Anuradhapura had been robbed last night. 

Police said cash and jewellery’s worth 32 million rupees.

The thieves had entered the financial institutions by making a hole through the wall and removed gold jewellery worth 30 million rupees.

Later, they had entered the building material store from its upper story and removed 2 million rupees in cash.

The owner of the building material shop and the staff of the financial institutions knew the robbery when they opened their businesses this morning.

Initial investigations revealed that the burglars have removed the recording gadgets of the CCTV cameras.

Anuradhapura police are investigating the two incidents.
