The All Island Private Bus employees Association says that there is no change in the private bus strike which is to commence from midnight today.

The convener of the association U.K Renuka stated that the Lanka Private Bus employees federation, inter provincial bus owners federation and the southern province private bus owners federation have agreed on strike action.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the All Island Private Bus Owners Association Gemunu Wijeratne noted that he will express his stance on the strike at noon today.

The Sri Lanka transport board says that measures have been taken to face the strike action if launched by the private bus associations. 

Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala De Silva stated yesterday that he will get involved in amending the proposed 25,000 rupee fine imposed on overtaking from the left.

This was during a discussion held with three-wheel associations, school transport associations and motorcycle associations.

However the representatives of two three wheel associations expressed contradictory views regarding the strike action.

Meanwhile, the railway services trade union alliance says that there will be no change in the strike action which is to commence at midnight today against abolishing the pension, and 4 other demands.
