The token strike launched by the Government Medical Officers Association against the budget, at 8 am yesterday is scheduled to end at 8 am today.

The OPD and Laboratory services were at a standstill yesterday due to the token strike launched island wide by the GMOA on the notion that due to the proposed budget, government services and the free health services have been affected.

In addition, the token strike launched by the paramedical service unions at 8 am yesterday based on 4 demands will end at 8 am today.

However, due to the strike, patients arriving at hospitals for treatment were severely inconvenienced.
