Police fired tear gas and water cannon at a group representing the Joint Opposition who were staging a protest near the Parliamentary Complex today.

Our correspondent stated that the protest was launched against delaying the conduct of the Local Government Elections.

Police had to fire tear gas to prevent the protesters from entering the road leading to the Parliament.
