Heated arguments were exchanged between house members today in connection with last Saturdays tear gas attack that took place near the parliament entrance on former local government members of the Joint Opposition.

Joint Opposition leader Dinesh Gunawardana enquired from the speaker to make his stance known with regard to the tear gas attack.

Meanwhile, UNP MP Ananda Aluthgamage made remarks in response to a statement made by MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage in parliament last week.

Aluthgamage while delivering his speech displayed before the house, a branch from a teak tree, to prove his points.
