Steps will be taken to sort the national debt crisis within the next decade, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe vowed.
He said this whilst attending the awarding of appointment letters to Assistant Directors of Customs yesterday.
The Prime Minister said that for a long time, in a decade, expenses in the country increased, profits declined and the national debt rose. He added that taxes were not collected properly.
“We are all dedicated to resolve the national debt issue within this decade without handing it down to the next generation,” he said.
