Workers attached to Magampura Management Private Limited are preparing to stage a Sathyagraha.

The strikers who have already launched a strike are demanding that they are absorbed to the Port Authority.

Chairman of the Magampura Port workers committee I.K. Omesh further described the proposed trade union action.

Meanwhile, a demonstration is being held at this moment in front of the Colombo Port demanding the cessation of the decision to sell Hambantota Port to China Merchant Holdings limited.

Commenting on the issue, General Secretary of the All Ceylon Port public workers union Chandrasiri Mahagamage said the relevant agreement is scheduled to be signed by the ministry secretary today.
