The Sathyakgraha launched by workers attached to the Magampura Management Private Limited is continued today.

The workers are demanding that the authorities absorb them to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

A group of strikers climbed to the roof top of a 15 stories building in the ports premises.

483 workers of the company launched the strike on last Wednesday.

JVP affiliated national Trade Union federation chairman K.D. Lal Kantha arrived at the Magampura Port premises this morning.

Minister of Ports and Shipping Arjuna Ranatunga had met with the strikers yesterday to discuss the issue. However Chairman of the Magampura Port workers committee I.K. Omesh stated that the Sathyakgraha would continue today as the discussion with the Ports minister had not been successful.

Addressing the strikers, JVP Political bureau member Lal Kantha said that his organization will support the strikers until they win their rights.
