Strike by Magampura Harbour, Hambantota, workers is continuing for the sixth day today. The strike was launched based on demands including to make their jobs permanent under the Port Authority.

Chairman of the Magampura Port workers committee I. K. Omesh said they are expecting to hold discussions with relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, a Hiru journalist was assaulted by the Navy Commander, while he was reporting about the situation at the port. Commander of the Navy is Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne has also shouted at the journalist using foul language.
