Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) addressed about the incidents where private information of prison inmates are revealed in parliament.

At a press conference held in Colombo its National Organizer Madumadawa Aravinda said,

“In every place in Sri Lanka, where prison inmates are detained, it is reminded to us that they a human beings. We know that (Deputy) Minister Ranjan Ramanayake and MP Hirunika Premachandra are commenting on very private factors. There are court cases that are pending due to such comments that are made without any basis. The issue we have is a simple one. We believe that prison authorities must protect the most private information of inmates. We showed places where the bullets pierced the head. But, did the Prison Commissioner or other officials disclose to Hirunika the most private information that was not revealed to anyone? Or did she study about them before this individual was imprisoned? If they behave this way then I say that some MPs are animals.”

Also commenting on the subject Publicity Secretary of the PHU Thushara Dissanayake said,

“It is better to talk about the reality faced by individuals who protect the law and peace than discussing about the fascination UNP MP Hirunika Premachandra gets by commenting on organs of prison inmates. We can say that the general public in this country, who have shyness and fear, are denouncing these comments made by MP Hirunika Premachandra.”
