The entry roads to Maagampura Port were opened today after 6 days.

They were blocked by the Port worker Sathyagraha during these days.

However, it is stated that police intervened to clear the roads today following discussions with the strikers.

Maagampura port workers Committee chairman I.K. Omesh explained details about the protest to our news team.

Members of Hambantota and Ambalantota Combine Bhikkhu Front visited the Hambantota port today.

They chanted ‘seth pirith’ and passed the blessings on those who were engaged in the strike.

At the same time, a group of southern provincial councilors also visited the protesters today.

Meanwhile, Port and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga stated at a media conference held in Colombo today that legal action will be taken against those who use protests as a ploy and engage in sabotage.
