Tajikistan President says lessons can be learnt from Sri Lanka

The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said that there are several lessons to be learnt from Sri Lanka in the field of improving the business sector.

President Rahmon stated this during the meeting he had with President Maithripala Sirisena this morning.

The two leaders stated during the discussion that bilateral ties should be strengthened in order to improve regional security and prevention of narcotic rackets.

Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon who thanked the president for inviting him to visit Sri Lanka, reciprocally extended his invitation to President Sirisena to visit Tajikistan.

Later two leaders signed several bilateral agreements including tourism promotion, physical exercise and sports and international trade.

Meanwhile, President Sirisena extended an open invitation to Tajikistani businessmen to identify investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.

Earlier, in the welcome ceremony, 21 gun salutes were held by security forces in honor of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon.
