Police inform courts that Wimal is evading investigations

MP Namal Rajapaksa reported to FCID today as well to give a statement with regard to how he acquired properties for his company Hello-Corp.

Having recorded a statement to the FCID, MP Rajapaksa commented on the assault on Hiru provincial reporter by the Navy commander.

Meanwhile, Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayarathna ordered the leader of National Freedom Front Wimal Weerawansa to appear before the FCID on the 28th and 29th of this month.

A case filed by the FCID against 5 individuals including the brother of Wimal Weerawansa - Sarath Weerawansa and Parliamentarian Jayantha Samaraweera on misusing government vehicles was taken up for hearing today.

FCID officers informed the court that Wimal Weerawansa does not appear before the FCID even when he is summoned to record statements in order to expedite investigations on the matter.

Considering the facts presented, the Magistrate ordered the parliamentarian to appear before the FCID.
