Drinking Water supplied only twice a month for Bandarawela residents

Residents in Bandarawela say that they are facing serious inconveniences as a result of drinking water being provided to the community only twice a month.

Residents pointed out that the supply is being limited by the National Water Supplies Board.

People in Bandarawela, Abegoda, Hapatgamuwa, Kinigama, Watagamuwa, Bidunuwewa, Ihala Diyabubula, Atthalapitiya, Diganathenna andMathatilla are faced with difficulties.

Our news team made inquiries about the situation from Uva Province Deputy General Manager from National Water Supplies and Drainage Board Ruwan Liyanagey.

The Deputy General Manager said that this situation has arisen from a huge decrease the availability of water at the sources providing water to the Bandarawela area in consequence of the prevalent dry weather.
