Strike by Ambulance Drivers in the North Central Province likely to go island-wide

Government Ambulance and Transport Drivers Association stated that they too will support the strike action of Health Service Drivers’ in the North Central Province if a solution is not provided to their problems before the 28th of this month.

Its Chairman W.D. Wijesinghe stated that as the parent association, they cannot allow health service drivers in one province to be neglected.

Health Service drivers of the North Central province launched a strike action on the 21st of this month demanding their service to be departmentalized.

Secretary of the North Central Provincial Health Service Drivers’ Association Amarananda Waduge stated that they will continue the strike until their demands are met.

Meanwhile, health services minor staff of the North Central province stated that they too will join the strike from the 28th of this month if a solution is not proposed.
