Environmentalists have pointed out the unusual increase in the population of monkeys in the country.

Environmental lawyer, Jagath Gunawardena stated that the population of monkeys have increased in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle, Ratnapura, and Kalutara districts.
