The Demarcation Committee report with boundaries of local government bodies demarcated is scheduled to be handed over to the subject Minister tomorrow.

President had appointed a committee headed by Ashoka Peiris to consider complaints regarding local government body boundaries and submit relevant amendments.

Reports say that while the committee began work on 1st December last year, the task has been completed with maps of each ward.

Local Government Council and Local Government Ministry Secretary had recently informed the committee to submit its report soon.

The report was scheduled to be submitted to the subject Minister on 30th November.

However the report was not submitted on that date since there was a request for time to have the report translated into Tamil and English.
