Submission of the de limitation report postponed by a week

Thehanding over of the delimitations commission report to provincial councils and the ministry of provincial councils and local government has been postponed by a week.

The acting provincial council and local government minister Priyankara Jayaratne noted that the chairman of the delimitations commission requested a period of one week, due to technicality errors in the respective report.

Earlier, the report was scheduled to be submitted on December 15th.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s office stated in a communiqué that Delimitation Commission has requested for an appointment with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to present him the Delimitation report.

The communiqué further stated that the Prime Minister expects to fix a suitable date to accept the report.

He will invite political party leaders who represent parliament too as they also want to discuss the delimitation report.
