Central provincial council also rejects development special provisions draft bill

The resolution presented to Central Provincial Council with regard to the Development Special Provisions Draft Bill was defeated by 32 majority votes this morning.

Accordingly, the Draft Bill has been rejected by 4 provincial councils already.

32 Councilors of the Central Province voted against the Bill while UNP councilors have walked away during the vote taking.

Meanwhile, 4 councilors have abstained from voting.

The resolution over the Development Special Provisions Bill was defeated yesterday by Southern Provincial council by 19 majority votes.

Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council defeated the resolution by 7 majority votes.

Earlier Uva and North Central Provinces also defeated resolutions over the same Bill.

At the same time, Northern Provincial Council rejected the Bill even without conducting a vote.
