National Freedom Front Leader MP Wimal Weerawansa has reported to the FCID again this morning.

He was called to record a statement with regard to an allegation in connection with the misuse of government vehicles.

Weerawansa made statement at the FCID yesterday on the same allegations.

The FCID has already filed action against five suspects including MP Weerawansa’s brother Sarath Weerawansa and MP Jayantha Samaraweera in Colombo fort magistrate Courts.

When the case was called on December 16, the FCID informed Courts that MP Weerawansa did not appear at the FCID on the scheduled dates to record the statement in order to speed up the investigation.

Police also informed Courts that the MP interrupted recording the statements by leaving the premises citing that he had to attend other important appointments.

Following this Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayarathna had released the order that MP Weerawansa appear before the FCID on the 28th and 29th of December.

Accordingly, Weerawansa appeared before the FCID on both dates.
