The All Ceylon Public Employees Union says that a black flag week will be observed from January 2nd to protest against the decision to lease Maagampura Port to a Chinese company.

Union Secretary Chandrasiri Mahagamage stated that black flags will be hoisted in all branches of the authority and its vehicles.

Addressing a media conference held in Colombo today, he said that all workers will report to duty while wearing black bands from January 2nd.

Meanwhile, All Ceylon Lottery Agents Union stated that its members will pull out from lottery sales if the government does not change its decision to increase the price of a ticket up to 30 rupees.

Addressing a media conference held in Colombo today, Union Chairman Krishantha Marambage said the trade union action will be launched with effect from January 1st.
