Minister of Petroleum & Petroleum Gas Chandima Weerakkodi stated that a joint venture will be initiated to manage the Trincomalee Oil Tank Farm.

Last Thursday, 4 officers from Ceylon Petroleum Corporation were detained by several officers from Lanka IOC while they were engaged in an inspection of the oil tanks at the Oil Tank farm in China Bay - Trincomalee.

4 officers including a deputy manager from Ceylon Petroleum Corporation took part in the inspection.

Speaking to our news team, the officers from Ceylon Petroleum Corporation stated that Lanka IOC officials detained them for over half an hour.

However, subject minister Chandima Weerakkodi stated that although the management of the Oil Tank Farm was delegated to India previously, measures have been taken to initiate a joint venture in managing the premises.
