The railway services on the coastal line have been recovered, officials said.

It came to a standstill when a train, ‘Sagarika’, derailed near the Galle railway station yesterday.

Train services on the coastal line have come to a standstill due to a derailment near the Galle railway station.

The Railway Control Room said ‘Sagarika’, which travels from Colombo to Matara, had derailed last night.

The train services operating from Colombo Fort up to Gintota and Ambalangoda stations will continue as per normal.
