SL fishermen are not detained in India- Fisheries Ministry says

Ministry of Fisheries has rejected accusations that the Indian government is detaining arrested Sri Lankan fishermen.

The Ministry stated that the families of the fishermen or other parties have not informed them about such incidents.

India and Sri Lanka have launched a programme to release arrested fishermen.

Arrested fishermen will not be detained for a long period of time, the Fisheries Ministry stated.
