Two Indians arrested with Kerala Marijuana worth over 15 million rupees

Police have commenced investigations to apprehend several Sri Lankan and Indian nationals engaged in smuggling Kerala Marijuana to the country through sea routes.

Speaking to our news team, a senior police officer stated that the investigations are being carried out under the directives of Police Narcotics Bureau.

In the past year, Kerala marijuana worth over 100 million rupees smuggled into the country through sea routes from India has been seized in Kankasanthurai.

Yesterday, a stock of 52 kg of Kerala Marijuana worth 15 million rupees, was seized by Police.

Police recently discovered several locations in Kankasanthurei and surrounding areas were being used to stash the smuggled marijuana.

The Police Narcotics Bureau stated that several Indian Nationals who have been arrested in connection to this matter, have disclosed important information regarding the process of smuggling marijuana into the country.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka Navy in collaboration with India’s Narcotics Control Bureau have commenced further investigations.
