India to support collecting rain water to supply to the North

India and Sri Lanka recently entered in to a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of 3,000 rain water harvesting systems.

The project will be carried out at a cost of 300 million Rupees in the Jaffna District.

The project will also cover the training of the households on operating and maintaining the systems.

This grant project was approved by Government of India in response to a request received from the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation of Government of Sri Lanka.
