Limitations on using air conditioners in government offices

Deputy Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ajith. P. Perera stated that a circular pertaining to maintaining air conditioners in government offices at 26 degrees Celsius will be issued.

Speaking at a press briefing held in Colombo today, the deputy minister stated that this measure was taken with the aim of saving electricity due to the prevailing dry weather conditions.
Police stated that the death has been caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.

Earlier, a couple who were on a holiday in Nuwara Eliya died in a similar manner by inhaling a toxic gas released through a barbecue grill.
