The Ceylon Electricity Board has instructed all local government institutions to delay lighting of Street lamps by an hour in preparation to an imminent power crisis.

Addressing a meeting with several ministry secretaries held in Colombo today, Power Ministry Secretary Suren Batagoda said instructions have already been given to local government authorities to delay switching on Street lamps.

He further said that steps will be taken in the future to provide Led bulbs to households.
