The 37 manpower workers who were arrested for engaging in a protest in front of the Power and Energy Ministry were released on bail.

They were released by the Colombo Fort Magistrate this afternoon.

The agitation by these manpower workers continued for 23 days in front of the Power and Energy Ministry.

Meanwhile, members of the Movement to Protect Rights of War Heroes handed over one letter to the Presidential Secretariat and another to the Pension Department.

They requested the Director General of Pensions to do justice to the war heroes who retired on the grounds of health problems.

In their letter to the Presidential Secretariat, the war heroes also requested the President to prevent bringing monks before book.
