The Ministry of Irrigation and Water Management has stated that the water levels of many reservoirs in the Eastern Province including the Senanayake Samudraya in Ampara has risen.

Responding to a query from our news team, Ministry Secretary R. M. W. Ratnayake said that as a result, it was possible to save paddy fields that were in the danger of being destroyed.
