Ministerial Security Division constable remanded over attempting to abuse a Russian female

The two Police Constables attached to the Ministerial Security Division who were arrested over the alleged abuse of a Russian female at Mount Lavinia beach were produced before the Mount Lavinia Additional Magistrate today.

The additional magistrate ordered one constable to be remanded until the 9th of next month while the other was released on a personal bail of 200 thousand rupees.

It is reported that the Russian female has faced the incident last evening while she was bathing at Mount Lavinia Sea.

The two police constables were arrested after the victim had complained to the lifeguards on duty and it is reported that the suspects have attempted to flee.

The two police constables aged 27 and 47 are residents of Mirihana and Kanthale areas.
