It has been revealed that the Malaria carrier, Anopheles stephensi which has been found in Pesalai is believed to have originated from India and made its way to sri lanka.

Director of the Malaria Prevention Project Dr. Hemantha Herath told our news team that several tests are being carried out to ascertain whether the killer mosquito has travelled to other areas of the island.
