The Sri Lanka Medical Council has stated that it is still studying the judgment announced by the Court of Appeal over the Malabe Private Medical School.

The GMOA stated that several trade unions including their association have been discussing the matter with the authorities of the Medical council yesterday and today.

GMOA’s assistant secretary Dr. Chandana Dharmarathna said that his organization will support any right decision taken by the Medical Council.

Meanwhile, the GMOA launched a token strike from 8am to 12 noon today in protest of the police tear gas attack on the demonstration launched by the Medical faculty students yesterday.

Our correspondents stated that hundreds of patients were inconvenienced due to the wild-cat strike launched by doctors today.
