A special meeting of the executive board of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association is being held in Colombo at this moment.

The Executive Board is discussing action that needs to be taken against deputy minister Ranjan Ramanayake for his recent reprimanding of the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretary H.M.L.S. Herath.

Chairman of the Association Ranjith Ariyarathna said that their final decision will be announced next Sunday.

Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake who inspected a soil excavation site in Dunagaha, reprimanded the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretary on January 26th.

The ultimatum issued by the association for the deputy minister to issue an apology to the divisional secretary, ended today.

Earlier, the Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association said that its members will launch an island wide strike if the deputy minister does not apologize.

Meanwhile, politicians and union members made statements with regard to the Dunagaha incident.

Meanwhile, the convener of the Joint Union Federation W.H.Piyadasa said his association will support any decision taken by the Administrative Service Association against deputy minister Ranjan Ramanayake.

In addition, journalists questioned Minister of Lands, John Amaratunga about unauthorized land fillings that take place in the Gampaha district.
