NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa and Former Deputy General Manager of the State Engineering Corporation Samantha Lokuhannadi were further remanded until February 20th when produced before Fort Chief magistrate Lanka Jayarathna this morning. 

Weerawansa and Lokuhannadi have been remanded under the Public Property Act for the misuse of state vehicles.

MP Wimal Weerawansa was arrested by the FCID on January 10th for allegedly allotting 40 vehicles belonging to the State Engineering Corporation and allocating them his family members and other personal parties,  thereby causing a 90 million rupees loss to the government.

Meanwhile, the Magistrate ordered the FCID to ascertain whether these vehicles had been released legally. She also ordered the police to accelerate investigations and submit a report.
