Wimal further remanded, his aide given suspended jail term
NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa and former deputy general manager of State Engineering Corporation Samantha Loku-hannadi were further remanded until February 20th.
They were produced before Fort Chief magistrate Lanka Jayarathna this morning.
Weerawansa and Loku-hannadi were remanded under the Public Property Act for misusing state vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Magistrate ordered the FCID to initiate an investigation against the former chairman of the State Engineering Corporation Ashu Marasinghe and another individual over similar charges.
Meanwhile, the Magistrate passed one and half year jail sentence on an aide of remanded MP Wimal Weerawansa today for contempt of court and suspended it for 7 years.
In addition, Magistrate Lanka Jayarathna ordered the suspect to pay a fine of 1 thousand rupees.
