Members of the Sri Lanka Medical Council are scheduled to meet on 17th of this month to take a decision in reference to the verdict given by the Supreme Court regarding SATIM.

However, a council spokesman said that the Medical Council’s management committee was scheduled to meet today and hold an initial discussion about the subject.

The Medical Council’s primary attention has been focused on whether a petition should be filed at the Supreme Court challenging the verdict given by the appeal court regarding SATIM.

Meanwhile students of all eight medical faculties island wide are boycotting educational activities till the private medical college at Malabe is abolished.

Medical Faculty Students’ Steering Committee member Udara Shrimal told our news team that the Colombo Medical Faculty was also boycotting educational activities.
