Trial dates have been announced for the hearing of forged passport case against Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa's wife, Shashi Weerawansa.

Colombo Magistrate Ranasinghe Bandara has issued summons on three witnesses and the trial dates are fixed as May 25, 30 and 31.

Appearing for the Attorney General, Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peries had raised objections to the relaxed bail conditions.

The Magistrate had initially ordered the suspect to appear before the CID on the 4th Sunday of each month.

However, the bail condition had been changed, requiring her to appear before the CID once every three months.

Mrs weerawansa had appealed that the bail conditions be altered through a motion in the absence of the CID and a state counsel in Court.

The Deputy Solicitor General requested Court to annul the successive bail condition.

Subsequently, the magistrate stated that an order for the request will be announced during the next hearing day.
