The gazette notification for the marketing imported and local rice at a fixed price was issued at midnight yesterday.

Accordingly, Samba rice variety, excluding Keeri Samba and Sooduru Samba, is to be sold at 80 rupees a kilo, while Nadu rice is to be sold at 72 rupees a kilo.

The controlled price of a kilo of Kekulu rice is 70 rupees per kilo.

He stated this responding to questions raised by journalists yesterday in Colombo.

Meanwhile, a vessel belonging to the Pakistani air force carrying 25,000 kilos of White Kekulu rice arrived in the country yesterday.
