National Dengue Prevention Unit says that there are widely reported cases of dengue patients from 9 districts in the country.

The affected districts are Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Jaffna, Baticaloa, Kalmune, Galle, Matara and Ratnapura.

Within this year 9886 dengue patients have been recorded and 12 out of them have died.

Also, during the health inspections carried out in the Colombo district recently revealed that 102 schools had dengue mosquito breeding places, Ministry of Health stated.
