Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe arrived at Melbourne AirPort, yesterday to begin his four day official visit, on the invitation of the Australian government.

The Premier and delegation was received by Victoria State Prime Minister Daniel Andrews and Australian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Bryce Hutchesson.

The Prime Minister’s visit signifies the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Australia.

The eight-member delegation led by Prime Minister Wickremesinghe will participate in the bilateral discussions with the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and several other ministers in Melbourne and Canberra.

Several bilateral agreements will also be signed between the two countries during the visit.
