Joint Opposition says that the Government is challenging the identity of the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

Former Minister Dallas Alahapperuma representing the joint opposition made the statement while participating in the handbill distribution campaign organised by the joint opposition’s combined trade union Front.

The campaign was launched in front of the Colombo Fort Railway Station last afternoon, demanding the abolition of the Malabe private medical college.

Private Medical College Parents’ Union convened a media briefing yesterday.

Participating in the meeting union chairman, P.M.D.K. Tennakoon said that all should have the right to receive an education.

Meanwhile participating at a public meeting held in Gampola yesterday minister of University Education and Highways Lakshman Kiriella said that there is limit to the government’s patience with regard to dealing with the SATIM problem.
