Tamil Nadu assembly went on for a trust vote for the first time in 29 years today to decide the fate of the VK Sasikala faction's AIADMK government headed by Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Former chief minister O Panneer Selvam and a group have voiced their opposition against them and opposition DMK representatives also expressed their wish to postpone the trust vote.

Their request for a secret vote has been rejected by the speaker.

This caused the MLAs to behave violently breaking the speaker’s table and microphone.

Due to this continuous commotion by opposition MLAs during trust vote proceedings, the speaker left adjourning the Tamil Nadu assembly again, this time till 3pm this evening.
