The Director of Peradeniya Teaching Hospital Dr. jayabandu Herath said that the new students in the first year who went through ragging by the seniors of the Agricultural Faculty of Peradeniya University do not have any internal or external wounds.

He also mentioned that the students were referred to a psychiatric specialist after the examinations concluded by the judicial medical officer. He said that there have been no issues with their mental status due to ragging.

Our correspondent reports that the students who faced the ragging did not come forward to express their views on the alleged ragging they went through.

The house used for ragging of freshers has been rented by the second year students at a cost of Rs. 10,000 per month by indicating to the owner that they are a group employed in an architectural company.
