Court allows MP Weerawansa to attend parliamentary committee meetings

The Prison Superintendent of Welikada was ordered today to allow NFF leader MP Wimal Weerawansa to participate in Parliament Sub Committees.

Weerawansa is currently being held in remand prison at Welikada.

The order was issued when MP Weerawansa’s revised bail application was considered before Colombo High Court Judge Wikum Kaluarachchi this morning.

The Judge also informed Court that the revised bail application for the MP will be heard on March 8th.

Wimal Weerawansa is to be held in remand until March 6th, for the alleged misuse of government vehicles.
