In Geneva today, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera told the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) that Sri Lanka is determined to address concerns faced on human rights.

He stated this while addressing the high-level segment of the 34th session of the UNHRC that was held in Geneva today, according to foreign media reports.

Minister Samaraweera went on to say that Sri Lanka has been able to make progress on several fronts over the past two years.

He added that among the notable improvements was the implementation of the Right to Information Act, cabinet approval for a National Action Plan on Human Rights and approval for an Office on Missing Persons.
