Deepa Seneviratne who had served as the State Debt Department Head during the time of the controversial bonds issue is scheduled to be summoned before the Bonds Commission today.

Reports say that on this occasion evidence from the former Head of department is due to be heard with regard to the State Loans Department’s activities.   

Seneviratne who had served as the head of State Debt Department was transferred to a different Section in September 2015.

Meanwhile the current head of the State debt Department, S. Sarathchandra, is scheduled to be summoned before the Bonds Commission tomorrow.

The Bonds Commission heard evidence from current State Debt Department Additional Superintendent Ized Aasim last week.

On this occasion it was revealed that former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran had visited the State debt Department twice on 27thFebruary, 2015 the day which the controversial bonds issue occurred.

Similarly it was also discovered that COPE had not received the reports submitted at the bonds auction.

The submission was supposed to have been made by the former Central Bank Governor.
