Attorney General writes to parliament over COPE report on bond issue : Supplementary estimate of 540 million rupees to purchase vehicles for 12 ministers

The speaker informed the house today that the Attorney General has sent a written notice on the COPE report sent to him in the past with regard to the controversial bond issue.

The notice by the Attorney General was tabled later and, it stated that if a loss has been incurred to the government, the loss could be charged from the persons who are directly connected to the transaction.

Meanwhile, the Draft Bill to set up an office for missing persons was also presented to parliament today.

In addition, a supplementary estimate of 540 million rupees to purchase vehicles for parliamentarians was also presented to parliament today.

The new vehicles will be purchased for 7 ministers, 3 state ministers and 2 deputy ministers.

In addition, another supplementary estimate to purchase 26 vehicles including 25 double cabs for the Auditor General Department was also presented to the parliament.
