No Indians at St Anthony’s feast in Katchchathivu; Navy responds to allegations by Tamilnadu fishermen

The St Anthony’s feast in Kachchathivu Island was held this morning.

The Sri Lanka Navy stated that although around 5,000 devotees were expected from India, none of them were in attendance.

This was the first time the feast is being held at the new Church constructed by the Navy in Katchchathivu.

Meanwhile, the Madras High Court had issued an order yesterday over the vessels used by the devotees to arrive in Kachchativu.

In the meantime Navy Commander Vice Admiral Raveendra Wijegunarathna stated that they deny allegations of shooting an Indian fishermen.
