Former minister of Private Transport C.B. Rathnayake reported to the Presidential commission of Inquiry on massive fraud and corruption this morning.

A senior police officer stated that former minister Rathnayake was summoned to record a statement with regard to organizing a propaganda rally for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, at a cost of 8.1 million rupees during the past presidential election.

The Commission will also be questioning with regard to the loss of 5 million rupees to the government by issuing route permits to operate private busses on the Southern Expressway during the previous regime.

Our correspondent stated that former minister is still recording his statement before the Commission at this time.
